University of Virginia
The University of Virginia Patent Foundation (UVAPF) holds all patent rights for the University of Virginia. University of Virginia officials have asserted that the Patent Foundation is a separate entity and therefore outside of the scope of Virginia’s Freedom of Information Act.  Patients not Patents has gone to court to prevent UVA from hiding these documents from the public.
